Senior/Principal Scientist, Mass Spectrometry

The Position

Verve is seeking a Senior/Principal Scientist, Mass Spectrometry who will lead the analytical quantitation and characterization of gene editor therapeutics using high resolution mass spectrometry. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of developing novel approaches and methods to the analysis of small molecules, biologics and oligonucleotides using HPLC, UPLC or CE coupled to a mass spectrometer. Verve is using oligonucleotides to effect precise gene editing. The role will focus on the in-depth characterization of small and large RNA using high resolution mass spectrometry in close collaboration with biologists, chemists and bioinformatics experts. With a broad background in mass spectrometry, the candidate will also lead the quantitation of analytes from lipid nanoparticle formulations as well the measurement of select protein biomarkers in plasma samples. This role is hands-on and offers a high level of autonomy. The scientist in this position will answer analytical challenges in preclinical research, analytical development, and will interface with collaborators at our CROs and CMOs. Candidates should have earned an advanced degree in chemistry, biology or biochemistry with a focus on mass spectrometry and should have multiple years of experience in a biotech laboratory setting.
